Dr. Washer is presently seeking highly qualified Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) at the PhD level to perform research related to nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of civil and aerospace systems and inspection reliability. Outstanding students with a strong background and experience are encouraged to apply.
Research topics include:
- Phased array ultrasonics
- Ultrasonic testing of welds
- Electromagnetic sensor design and modeling
- Infrared thermography
- Inspection Reliability
To hold a graduate assistantship, a student must be:
- Admitted to a department or area with a specific graduate-degree objective.
- Enrolled in a program and making satisfactory progress toward degree attainment during the period of the assistantship.
Typical GRA positions include a monthly stipend and a tuition waiver. Students with interest in Civil (structural) Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Aerospace, Materials Science, or nondestructive evaluation may be suitable for these opportunities.
